Title says it, I know Ruby is very old compared to Pearl, but I'm pausing my Pearl to concentrate on Ruby. I've never conquered Battle Tower, and when I tried several times, my highest record became 68 trainers of Lvl 50. Movesets as follow:

<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>

Alakazam (Synchronize) ~ Timid @ Shell Bell

[252 SA, 252 Spd, 4 HP]
HP: 121
ATK: 57
DEF: 59
SA: 173
SD: 91
SPD: 172

- Psychic
- Fire Punch
- Thunderpunch
- Reflect

I went with Reflect as its last move slot, so as to provide team support and survive at least one hit of Earthquake. I've no idea how much it helps, but when I switched from Calm Mind to Reflect, I did survive longer, except dying to Wobbuffet without Calm Mind on the 68th trainer.

<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>

Metagross (Clear Body) ~ Lonely @ Leftovers

[*didn't really ev train this, my bad :X*]
HP: 174
ATK: 162
DEF: 143
SA: 111
SD: 103
SPD: 98

- Metal Claw
- Brick Break
- Shadow Ball
- Explosion

I know your thinking what the heck am I running Lonely for. I had no choice, since I cannot breed it, and I'm going for the set of Lvl 50, so I didn't get to learn Meteor Mash/Agility. However, I plan to delete Metal Claw for Earthquake.

<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>

Latios (Levitate) ~ Brave @ Lum Berry

[252 SA, 252 Spd, 4 HP]
HP: 146
ATK: 104
DEF: 85
SA: 166
SD: 115
SPD: 131

- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover

This is my backup sweeper, Lum Berry takes care of its status, and Recover helps you know what. I'm thinking of getting rid of Recover and teach him something like Calm Mind, since I don't really need Recover at all based on my experience.

That's my team. I'm planning to get in Wobbuffet, properly EV trained to resist most moves and help to easily kill the opponent. I also plan to bring in Regirock, but I'm having problems with his moves.

- Rock Slide
- Superpower
- Swagger
- Psych Up

OR

- Curse
- Rock Slide
- Superpower
- Explosion

Which one should I go with? I personally love the first set, the Psych Up. And, it would make more sense since Surf will most likely 3hko me from Kingdra or even 2hko from any special sweepers, and if I run the Swagger set, I would have more chance. Besides, this is RSE, so water types are special still.

However, the problem is, no Explosion. Personally, I am a fan of Explosion, so would I be alright if I go with the Swagger set without Explosion? If I'm having both Wobbuffet and Regirock, my last mon would most probably be Latios, as a finishing special sweeper whom can withstand a few moves, unlike Alakazam which can get ohkoed by a stabbed EQ.

<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>*<*>

Opinions, help on these? Try not to offer me suggestions about Hidden Power, because I don't really like to breed so long for those. And, suggestions about what better mons could be used are also appreciated.

Thanks. ;____________;

I think that you should post it in the RMT thread......

For Alakazam, I would use Modest nature and Calm Mind. If you're able to use CM while some Pokémon is using lame Special moves and you can survive the hits, you'll do great. Reflect is an option.

That Metagross is quite awful. Earthquake, if you want to keep it.

Iäve never used Lati@s, so I don't know much about them. That seems like a decent set and EV-split, but the nature is horrible.

Don't know much about Regirock either, but I like that Swagger-set, for some reason.

You should train all to level 100. Then your EV-training would truly pay off and you could get better moves for Metagross.

Yes, you could've posted this to RMT-thread.

I did, but it got moved over here.

Same as what I replied earlier to Arkanine. Okay, I think I'll get back Calm Mind. I ever thought of training them to Level 100, but the Pokemons in Battle Tower at Lvl 100 are extremely hard to fight, so I'm still confused about that.

Fly on Latios? o.0 Imo, a straight no to Fly. And I don't think I really need Magnitude since I already have Earthquake.

Actually, if you delayed Metang's evolution to 50, you would learn MeteorMash and evolve that same level.

I soft resetted my Beldum until I got mine at Naughty nature, which is real helpful, IMO.

Only thing that killed him was the fact I already wasted EQ on Blaziken and Shadow Ball on Crobat. (Crobat is a real terror in Battle Tower by the way, you might wanna consider one.)
