The Discovery of the Chasm of Secrets

-It's been seven years since the battle ended, seven years since Naruto became Hokage, and up until now all has been peaceful, but something is definitely going wrong. The earth has been shifting strangely, earthquakes shaking the very roots of the land of Fire, the land of wind suffering under Hurricanes and Tornadoes, The land of Earth's had shifting plates, falling rocks and Earthquakes as well, the Land of Water suffering under Typhoons and Tsunamis, and other lands are suffering as well. Why? No one knows.

Meanwhile, Team Nine consisting of Ryuu and Haku Inuzuka and Hanako Hyuuga has troubles of their own. Hanako's nearly been kidnapped several times, probably because of the five-tail, and Ryuu...he's been acting different lately.

Hanako doesn't know what she must do, in fact she feels afraid of what she needs to do despite her clouded knowing. All she's sure of is that something's wrong and she needs to fix it.-

++This centers around the young Hyuuga girl by the name of Hanako and her two teammates. The villain, the Akatsuki and their new leader.++

++PG-13 for some violence and language.++

-The Discovery of the Chasm-
Prologue
~Team Nine~

“Oh COME ON!”

Hanako groaned. This was the THIRD day they had had to skip training due to an absent sensei. Hanako had even made sure that the three members of her team all showed up on time today, and once again sensei had missed training.

The three currently just sat there, the young blonde Hyuuga in the middle, her long hair in front trailing down over her criss-crossed legs and touching the grass where it was loose in the back. Beside her sat Ryuu, eating an apple, his red coat stickng out like a sore thumb on the bright green of the grass in that circle of trees where the training area was. His short brown hair was invisible underneath the hood of his coat, but the red triangles under his eyes distinguished him from most other clans. His blue jeans were stained with green on the knees and his headband, tied around his neck, was of a bright red color. Haku, on the other hand, seemed the opposite of his brother. His clothes were clean and the markings on his face were lighter than Ryuu’s. He wore some armor over a gray shirt and had his young wolf partner on the ground next to him.

“That’s what the note says, Hanako. No training today.” Ryuu pointed out, holding up the scrap of paper that had been taped to a tree, notifying them of their sensei’s absence.

“Three days in a row now that he’s missed training, how do you ever expect me to get any better?” Hanako said.

“Um…Wh-why d-don’t we go t-train with Hinata-sensei again?” Haku put in quietly, as he always did. That was what they had been doing for the last three days, but both Hanako and Ryuu had a feeling that their team needed more help that Hinata-sensei could offer.

“Hinata-sensei? I’d like to see her try to train her own team, she’s passed out twice within the last week.” Hanako said. Ryuu nodded as well, and Haku seemed to ponder other options.

“Hey, Hanako. Isn’t Hinata part of your family? It seems like you hate her, but I don’t see how someone can hate part of their own family.” Ryuu said, picking Kichiaka up off the ground and slipping him into the backpack Ryuu wore everywhere.

“Hinata? Yes, the part of my family that lays down iron rules and completely severs our freedom so that everyday we live we have to fear the coming of death.” Hanako replied, he mood darkening greatly at the mere mention of it all.

“Y-you’re e-exaggerat-ting it…” said Haku.

“Yeah, Hanako, the Hyuuga family let up on a bunch of rules just a couple years ago.” Said Ryuu.

“Not one of them.” Said Hanako, pulling her leaf village headband up at the side to reveal the green markings that stretched across her forehead, “And for all they care, I doubt they ever will.”

“But there must be some way to get rid of it.” Said Ryuu, not expecting the harsh answer he received.

“Oh yes, there’s a way to get rid of it. I’d have to die.” Hanako said, her tone sharpening and her uncaring, fierce nature showing through like black on white.

“It’s not like it does anything when the main family isn’t around.” Said Ryuu.

“Oh yeah? It suppresses our Kekkei Genkai, I mean do you ever see me using it?” Hanako replied.

“B-but N-neji-sensei has the s-seal as w-well, and he c-can use t-the B-byakugan…” said Haku, stuttering like he always did.

“and you think he did that easily?” Hanako said, “He’d had years of prior training and hard work to even master that, probably more for those techniques he uses. Besides, even he’s not invincible.”

“It sure seems like it, I’ve seen him take out enemy Jounin like it was brushing off a fly in training matches, not to mention the fact that he killed Kidomaru when he was only a Genin.” Said Ryuu.

“He also got attacked and almost killed by a member of the main family, Detirei Hyuuga. Almost killed, and you know how?” Hanako was at her fierce tone again, and once again she indicated the mark on her forehead, “His seal. Detirei was able to activate it and almost kill him. It’s not fast, either, it’s a slow process of merely pain and agony. You obviously don’t know, stupid dog.”

“What did you just call me?!” Ryuu said, finally returning Hanako’s harsh stare with a eagle-gaze of his own.

“Stupid Dog. S-T-U-P-I-D D-O-G.” Hanako said, and Ryuu growled and leaped at her, and for a couple minutes just thrashed around, pulling hair, kicking and biting. Eventually, they stopped and turned away from each other, looking like they had just free-fallen over a cliff and landed in the dust.

“u-um s-shouldn-n’t w-we be head-ding b-back h-home?” Haku said, turning and looking away, then looking back at the two ninja sitting on the ground, giving each other death glares. They stood up, then Ryuu and Haku left toward their home while Hanako went to see if she could tag along on the mission with the next leaving Genin team.
