Default Re: FireSong X DJBird

The three of us had gathered at the top of the mountain at the specified time and were now preparing for the battle to begin. DJBird and Firesong, the trainers who were going to take part in the battle, took their places and sent out their chosen pokémon. DJBird chose his Rotom, who was nicknamed Motor, while Firesong went for Callie the Meowth. Spirits swirled around, drawn out of their hiding places by the promise of an exciting new battle; it wasn’t often they got treated like this any more. Trying to ignore the spectators who gathered, I blew my whistle and waved a flag around, giving the order to commence the battle – these ghosts made me uneasy.

Round One

DJBird

[Motor] Rotom (X)

HP: 100%
Energy: 100%
Condition: Ready to go
Moves: Protect ~ Sucker Punch

FireSong

[Callie] Meowth (F)

HP: 100%
Energy: 100%
Condition: Playing with her tail
Moves: Fake Out/Hone Claws ~ Bite/Hone Claws

Motor started up the battle by throwing up a shield of green energy around its body. This curved wall would protect the poltergeist from any attacks its opponent tried to throw at him. The Rotom grinned cockily at Callie – it knew that it was invincible.

Callie wasn’t bothered by her opponent’s protection – she had backup plans for situations just as this. She began to scrape her claws on the rocky ground, sharpening to the finest point she could. When this was accomplished, she knew that she would be able to do more damage than usual and pinpoint her strikes to a greater degree of accuracy. Meanwhile, Motor’s shield flickered and disappeared, and it slunk away to the side, annoyed that the Meowth hadn’t fallen into his trap.

However, she seemed to be about to fall into his second one. The cat pounced forwards, her mouth gaping open. But, before she could clamp down on the ghost, a blackened lightning bolt came out of nowhere and struck her to the ground. This was because Motor had been preparing dark-type energy in its right fist and been waiting for Callie to try and attack it. The moment she couldn’t defend herself, the Rotom struck.

But the Meowth wasn’t finished yet. She ran into the rainbow of light opening her mouth once again. This time, Motor had no tricks up its metaphorical sleeve and the cat managed to wrap her teeth around its orange body. It screamed as the teeth dug deep into its plasma and pulled itself away from its assailant. Callie dropped to the ground and moved back to a safer distance, while Motor hovered backwards a little as well. Both had dealt damage to the other and both felt a little sore, but this was nothing compared to what was surely to come.
