X refers to a horizontal axis. Pokemon X features the legendary that dwells on the ground.

Y refers to a vertical axis. Pokemon Y features the legendary that dwells on the ground.

As such, it's entirely possible that the eeveelutions will follow the theme of 'sky and land', and we'll get a Flying type Eevee and a Ground type Eevee. :3

Chances are, with that logo for the new Eevee short, we'll only get one Eeveelution, though.
