So, what do you guys think the new Pokemon are? Well the first two are very obvious. Froakie a frog and Fennekin a fox. But I started to wonder what Chespin was. I randomly took a guess, I think it's accurate. I guess that he is a mole.

What do you guys think?

Chespin is indeedly a mole.

I really hope those aren't the final evolutions. They are...ugh. Terrible. They'd ruin the cuteness of the basics. :(

I looked it up. Chespin is based off a chipmunk. One of his foreign names is composed of the words for chestnut and chipmunk.

Bulbapedia is leaning toward chespin as a hedgehog.

"Chespin is a combination of chestnut and pin. It may also be from urchin (an old term for hedgehog), chinkapin (the name of some species of chestnuts), and spina (Latin for thorn).

Harimaron is a combination of 蝟 harinezumi (hedgehog), 針 hari (needle), and marron (French for chestnut)."

Pin makes sense for hedgehog. A chestnut and a pin cushion. Chespin.
