I will be making a double battle team later after i finish this current team. However I cant work on 1 now... yay for martial arts!!

i wouldnt zone would be a problem at all...rarely have a come across one that has done any damage to my machamp and it unless its scarfed with hp ground it cant do anything to heatran

The main thing is when Magnezone comes into scizor its done, the standard spread outruns ALL scizors that aren't scarfed, and if your scarfed you probably can't KO with Brick Break. Why does Heatran have Earthquake, Heatran's ONLY physical move should be Explosion... not to mention Earthquake is pointless when Heatran learns Earth power, and coming off of a 130 base sp. atk hurts more than a base 90 attack.

Also while I have your attention make ABSOLUTE sure that Skarmory has a Shed Shell as its item.

Magnezone is still decently common. You and I both know that Magnezone 2HKO's Machamp with T-Bolt. The main problem is he hardly has anything to switch in after Jolteon is gone. Heatran can't actually Trap Magnezone and it won't want to take the powerful thunderbolt. Two of this pokes are the pokes that Magnezone eats up. Its not just that it does damage its that unless the player plays Magnezone like an idiot [leaving it in or a Gyarados or a Heatran] the rest of the team can't kill it.

Gyrados knows earthquake not heatran.
And shed shell huh can I ask why?

Sorry with the other statement I was sure that you meant they both had EQ.

Shed Shell because Skarmory can't do anything to Magnezone and Magnezone traps Skarmory

Its ability Magnet pull traps all steel pokemon and does not allow them to switch unless they have Shed Shell

Also the reasons you don't want to be trapped

~Magnezone has I think a base 110 defense and x4 resists Brave Bird
~One layer of spikes is not worth a pokemon or SR is not worth a Skarmory
~Roosting doesn't do anything if its at full and even at full you won't survive the thunderbolt
~any other support move besides whirlwind can't do anything to it [taunt, toxic, etc]
~and if you can predict the switch and use whirlwind its better to just switch it out instead to Heatran.
~And if I'm correct absolutely no move that Skarmory can learn can really leave a dent in the flying saucer, so if you get trapped you're down one.

I also assume your Skarmory is your lead, so you won't have alot of intel wether they have a Magnezone or not. Also if its your lead you pretty much get one turn to do something before its a 6-5 game, and switching out skarmory every time you start a match is pointless.

And I have other pokes to try and save jolt for as long as possible.

i agree zone does damage, but one dpunch from champ and chances are its already finished.

I understand, Its just Jolteon's rather frail, so either that or its teammates will have to take the hit for it, and if they see a Skarmory then they know not to fling Earthquakes around, along with the idea that Jolteon's frail so they don't have to hit it with EQ to kill it.

EDIT: DSL the point is that he doesn't have much to switch into it, not that he doesn't have something to kill it, if its Scarfed than its worse since it can kill gyarados too before it DD's. No one sits their Magnezone into a dymanic punch unless they want a free switch, and if they know theres a Skarmory or a Scizor, they'll probably opt not to throw Mag away.

used the right way, jolt can come in and absorb zones electric to get back hp. I do agree, but an experienced battler would have no trouble dealing with zone with jolt on the team.

It can't survive a D-punch at all, but it would never take the Brick Break unless you predicted the switch... which in most cases you just won't. You'll probably use Bullet punch and Magnezone resists that x4 also... so its pretty much you're stuck again.

You would have to make sure they didn't predict that after the first time though, and you're left with only having a NVE move to do damage, since none of its attacks are even effective on Zone and a neutral HP will still do a noticable chunk.
