The thought is what counts :P. I went to the treasure guy on Route 13, because there is a small chance he will give you one... but I got a Thick Club... again lol. I could try catching slowbro? poliwag/whirl? if I'm not mistaken.. and they'll have a 5% chance of holding one.. but that is BS!!! haha. btw, I was looking at Poliwrath... and I was thinking of trying to run a swift swim adamant sub focuspunch set. Smogen recommends using Water Absorb, but I feel the speed increase would be more beneficial? I was thinking something like...

Poliwrath
Swift Swim
Adamant@ Leftovers
132 hp/252 Atk/124 speed

Sub
Focus Punch
Waterfall
Encore

I'm just trying to think of some cool pokes to use on a rain dance team..

Water absorb is the way to go on that set, you will find swift swim quickly wasted when he is inevitably forced to switch out.

But think of it this way... what if my opponent already assumes I have water absorb, and mis-predicts, my ability. Then I catch them off guard with encore, and bam. I feel I wouldn't mind to switch him out anyways because, I want him to come in and force switches and do damage and leave. I am thinking of building a few bulky pokes that would work well with him.. like durant, gastrodon.

EDIT:

hmm.. It's hard to decide. speed or set fodder on water...

what are your thoughts on a items that get rid of weaknesses. Lets say a water pokemon could hold something called Ember Grain. This item would be Grass resistant until hit by water or ground move, then it would turn into a Sand Grain which would be Electric Resistant . You could also get something like dry leaf which would increase fire moves and absorb water. The catch would be the boost would be gone if a water move hit it but you would still be water resistant. Grass could be given something like Rock Dust which would make them fire resistant. Once it is hit with ground or water it would lose its fire resistant, but it would throw rocks like stealth rocks that would effect any incoming pokemon.

other pokemon and sets make better use of the weather tbh. Poliwarth is still pathetically weak in all but nu tier, a focus punch from behind a sub isn't going to be very epic, especially if that mon is dusknoir.

Also you cannot use gastrodon in RU it's welll and truely overused.
