2012 State of the Ultra RPG

It has been two years since we opened a new branch on Bulbagarden.

A turning point in URPG history, the expansion tested our ability to exist simultaneously on two forums. It tested our ability to integrate two communities. It challenged us to be more than we were before. And we embraced that change.

During that time, we’ve experienced many joys and heartbreaks.

We have accomplished what we initially set out to do. We found those talented strategists, talented writers, talented roleplayers, talented coordinators, and talented leaders. We’ve recruited new people with new ideas and new dreams. We ensured that our community would never die.

Despite our hardships, we advanced forward. We overcame the challenges placed before us. We prospered despite the odds.

That has always been our story.

We work hard. We innovate. We achieve our dreams and then create new ones. And sometimes… we dream big.

I’m proud to announce that on May 4, 2012, the Pokemon Ultra RPG will open a new branch on The Pokemon World.


World Expansion

This will be a challenging time for all of us.

We must work hard to ensure that not only are we ready to handle the new members, but that we are also willing to welcome them with open arms. That we will strive to integrate them into our community. That we will help them advance forward. That we will train them to achieve their goals. That we will be there to pick them up when they fall.

That we will be there to be their friends and family.

Most importantly, we must put our best foot forward. To demonstrate the best that we are to the new members and to TPW. To make a good first impression. And a good second. And a third.

For those steps will determine our success and our future as part of this community. We must establish a good relationship with them as they establish a good relationship with us. That has always been the case even with PE2K and BMG.

But we must not only encourage their members to join us. We must also join them. We must cooperative with them, coordinate with them. We must embrace them as family so that they will embrace us.

We must participate in their events, join their roleplays, reply to discussions, showcase our art, and post our stories. We must converse with their members, coordinate with their leaders, combine our creativity. We must reach out to form new friendships for in doing so, we shall both be greater for it.

This is an exciting time for the URPG.


A Call for Unity

Some of us are PE2Kers. Some of us are BMGers. Some of us are both.

Some of us are battlers. Some of us are writers. Some of us are roleplayers. Some of us are coordinators. Some of us are all of the above.

Some of us are refs. Are graders. Are rangers. Are judges.

Moderators, officials, members.

A multitude of differences. A plethora of diversity.

We are a community of many different people.

It is for that reason that we thrive and prosper. That we succeed. Our differences allow us to create new ideas, combine old tricks, embrace innovative strategies. Our weaknesses are covered by each other’s strengths. Challenges that might overwhelm one is easily defeated by another. That team effort, that cooperative spirit that defines who we are, that is what makes us great.

Each and every star is unique and different. They twinkle brightly in the night sky above. But only together can they form the vista of constellations that uplift our hearts and souls.

We are not perfect. We are not problem-free. We are not without darkness.

But we are a community. We are a family. We are the heroes of this tale.

And as heroes, we must strive forth to do what’s right. To overcome all challenges. To uphold the values of honesty, hard-work, loyalty, compassion, honor, courtesy, and conviction. To be the best there ever was.

Because it’s right. Because we can. Because that’s just who we are.

No hero is perfect. No hero is problem-free. No hero is without darkness.

But it’s not who we are that defines us. It’s what we do. Who we help. How we serve. What actions we take in this world we live in.

We must unite together. We must respect one another. We must treat each other with courtesy and compassion, for if we cannot act as one, we shall surely fall apart. It’s during this critical time that we must stand with each other.

And no matter where we come from:

Yahoo, Pokemon Elite 2000, Bulbagarden, The Pokemon World,

We shall always be who we always are.

The URPG Family.

It’s time. Let’s take 2012 by storm.

Wow, seeing this expand as much as it has makes me proud I joined that little Pokemon Yahoo group way back when. Im sure some of you wont recognize me, but congratulations and I hope The Pokemon Ultra RPG continues on for years to come.
