[Contest] [VOTING] PE2K's Pumpkin Carving Contest! - Pokemon Forum

For those of us who celebrate it, Halloween is close at hand, and we all know what that means: candy, costumes, but most importantly, jack-o-lanterns. As such it gives me much happiness of happiness to announce PE2K’s first Pumpkin Carving contest! The rules are simple and we have loads of prizes for winners and those who just plain try their best. After we’ve gotten the big bunch of carved veggies in, users will vote on their favorite to determine the winner. What are these prizes you ask?

First place: Litwick Plushie courtesy of Typhlosion Explosion
Second place: A Ghastly, Haunter and Gengar funfusion magnet set provided by Judge Dredd
Third place: A Keldeo poster from Ant2011

All participants will receive a female DW ability Murkrow and Shuppet from myself! Also, for those who have a deviantART account or not, we will be featuring these wonderful carvings on PE2K’s deviantART group; PE2K Deviants!

*Please remember to get permission from your parents if you are under 18 years of age for mailing purposes.

Rules:

We’re a Pokémon forum, so Pokémon related jack-o-lanterns please!
It does not necessarily have to be a pumpkin that is carved, it could be a watermelon or a squash. I like pumpkins though because it’s more Halloweeny.
No stealing art. Please timestamp your pictures of the final product!
You may do more than one jack-o-lantern, but may only enter one for the contest. You can decide which one that is as long as it’s before the deadline!

Deadline for submissions is November 1st 11:59pm Pacific time.
Voting will take place from November 2nd until November 7th 11:59pm Pacific time.

We also ask that you do not use pre-existing carvings for the contest, as to keep it fair for other contestants. ^^ Questions can be asked in the thread here.

I saw the contest earlier this week and definitely had to get in on it. I love carving pumpkins! x3 My choice for a Pokemon was pretty easy too. Wanted to put the nick in his ear, but was afraid it would break. Think it could've been better on some of the lines, but I'm pretty happy with it. ^^

Wow they all look amazing. I have never carved anything before. We don't do Halloween here. Carving looks fun though (but difficult!), I kinda want to try it!

You should give it a shot Sarah. I thought it would be difficult too, but I've had some practice now and it's really fun. ^^ The hardest part is coming up with a design that works and figuring out what bits need cut or scraped away. But there are a lot of stencils just for carving now. Really, it mostly takes time. Especially when you get into ornate or delicate bits. I did one two years ago that lost a couple tree branches and I kept cutting through the thin windows. ^^'

For some reason, the poll ends sooner than the allotted time, and I can't seem to change it. Therefore, any voting posts will be acredited to the poll about if you haven't already voted, until the time as posted on the first post. Sorry for the muck up. ><

I did think about as announcement as well, however it was posted with the original news update.

Well the time has come and we have our results for PE2K's first Pumpkin Carving contest!

In third place is Gameking!
