Nice answers all of you, but remember vellyvell that pre-evolutions are not in Red and Blue. All wrong. =P

pidgey, the only on you dont have to get by circumstance.
example
jynx: you must trade both versions
Electabuzz red version only; found sparcly at powerplant. Blue, you must trade
Magmar blue version only; found sparcely at cinnibar mansion, red you must trade
Pidgey- walk in the wild, first city, they are everywhere

All is evolutions,, but to get Jolteon you gotta use a evolution ston (thunderstone) the other evolves by level...

Jolteon, it's the only mon that has a completely different type from its previous evolution.

uhhh Jolteon because It is the only pokemon there that can use bug type attacks.
