Time Glitch Can Be Fixed By Fire Red/Leaf Green! -02/09/04- |
The time glitch, also known as the “berry glitch,” exists in the Ruby/Sapphire versions. The problem is that the game’s time will not work after a year the game has been played. This affects time related events such as berries that are growing (or not growing in this glitch’s situation). Starting the game over will not fix the problem. In Japan, Nintendo offered a free fix at their service centers to fix the problem. In the US, the Jirachi transferred from the Bonus Disc to Ruby/Sapphire will automatically fix the problem (you get the Bonus Disc from pre-ordering Pokemon Colosseum). There is also another way to fix the problem, by using the newly released games, Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green. Using Fire Red/Leaf Green to Fix It By using Fire Red/Leaf Green, you can link to your Ruby/Sapphire game and fix the problem that way. At the title screen of Fire Red/Leaf Green, press Select+B, and a screen will appear to prepare fixing the Ruby/Sapphire game. Fire Red/Leaf Green just got released in Japan, and there’s still no official release date set for the US. So that method of fixing Ruby/Sapphire will have to wait for the US folks. Of course, we don’t even know if this feature will even be in the US versions, since it’s not even released here yet, but it seems likely since the US versions of Ruby/Sapphire have the same problem. For the time being, the fix on the Bonus Disc with Jirachi is the only way, while we wait for Fire Red/Leaf Green. Screenshots | | | After pressing Select+B, you'll be brought to this screen. Press A to continue. | You need to connect to Ruby or Sapphire game to a Fire Red or Leaf Green game. Press A to continue. |
| | | Press Start+Select. The fix will be transfered to the Ruby or Sapphire game, and the game will now be fixed. | |

Fire Red/Leaf Green Sells Out Most of Available Stock in Debut! -02/06/04- |

Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green is selling very well in Japan. In the first four days of release (it was released on a Thursday), 95.6% of the stock has already been sold, leaving only a slim 4.4% of the games still out there in stores. Fire Red and Leaf Green combined to sell 885,039 units (about a possible 925,773 units available). It’s likely that more games would have been sold, if not the limited supply of the games. Limited Supply Expected Weeks before the release of Fire Red/Leaf Green, Nintendo has announced that it will ship out only a relatively small amount of the games to stores. With only about 925,773 available games in stores, that’s definitely a small amount that Nintendo has planned. Ruby/Sapphire sold 1.2 million units in first three days of release, well over the amount of Fire Red/Leaf Green even available in stores. The reason of the cutback is not clear. Nintendo might have anticipated weak sales with the remakes, which didn’t happen, over 95.6% of the stock has been sold, and Fire Red/Leaf Green placed first in the week’s top selling games list in Japan. Another possibility is the Wireless Adapter that comes with Fire Red/Leaf Green, the new device might have caused production delays.
